See How United Players Reacted at Carrington After Solskjaer Appointment

Manchester United stars are among the many who were thrilled with Ole Gunnar’s appointment as permanent manager.

For that reason, most of them have streamed in to Carrington to congratulate the boss for the privilege.

The announcement came early Thursday, with Solskjaer signing a three-year contract after impressing since taking over from Jose Mourinho last December.

Solskjaer has won 14 games out of a possible 19 as interim boss and United are only two points outside of the top four.

Chris Smalling and Marcus Rashford both told their now full-time manager:’Congrats boss.’

And Solskjaer himself said: ‘From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this special club.

‘It was an honour to be a Manchester United player, and then to start my coaching career here. The last few months have been a fantastic experience and I want to thank all of the coaches, players and staff for the work we’ve done so far.

‘This is the job that I always dreamed of doing and I’m beyond excited to have the chance to lead the club long term and hopefully deliver the continued success that our amazing fans deserve.’

Solskjaer will not take too much time soaking up plaudits from his players, however.

United are back in action on Saturday in the Premier League, when they host Watford at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has actually lost his last two matches as United manager – against Arsenal; in the league and Wolves in the FA Cup.
