When you hear the sound of your alarm early in the morning and it feels like a battle field, it’s time to pay attention now and stop taking that 10 minutes snooze.
It’s not an easy things to be an early riser however you have to begin from somewhere. Here are some tips you help in the journey of being an early riser.
1. Wake up 4 hours earlier than usual!
Yes I said it! If you really want to start this journey of waking up early, you need to wake up even earlier than you plan just once. This way, you are training your body to get up early. Just try it one time. Maybe you can go for a jog.
2. Set your phone across the room
Don’t set it too far where you aren’t able to hear it. If you set your phone across the room rather than in your bed, it requires you to get up and turn it off and if you don’t want your alarm to wake up anyone you will get up faster! Just be strong and don’t get back in the bed.
3. Drink a cold glass of water when you wake up
Nothing else is refreshing than a cold class of water. This may wake you up or maybe it won’t because you just want to get back in the bed. Maybe your a tea or coffee person. You should look forward to waking up to a certain beverage every morning . Whatever that is, make sure it is healthy and it will give you lots of energy for the day.
4. Know why you’re getting up and be excited about it
Hello! You get to live another day! That’s exciting! Whether you have to go to a crappy job or a class that you don’t like, you should be thankful that you are here on the Earth. You may be waking up early to finish a book, workout, or study for a big test you have coming up. Whatever it is, find something that you can look forward to waking up to.
5. Go to bed at a decent time
Now i’m not saying that you need to go to bed at 8 o’clock, but of course it’s going to be hard to get up in the morning if you go to bed super late. Set a time where you cut your phone off so you don’t forget to leave it across the room. Make sure it is charged so your alarm will go off as well.
6. Don’t sleep in heavy on the weekends
What? Yes, I said it! Sleeping in on the weekends may mess up your sleep pattern for the week. You don’t have to get up as early as you do on the week days but don’t sleep in until noon unless you pulled an all-nighter, then you probably need some sleep.
7. Tell yourself that you’re waking up this early for a purpose and it has to be done
When you have a purpose for something and when you keep telling your mind that you can’t go to sleep, you look at the bigger picture and you put your big pants on.
Waking up early can be hard, but with these tips, it can be possible! Stop telling yourself that you aren’t a morning person. Many successful people wake up early and are productive.
