Demonstrations have been witnessed at the Namanga border (Kenya side) on Wednesday morning causing a curfew at the busy gateway.
Residents protested over a Kenyan trader who was whisked away by armed people (police) to the Tanzanian side of the border on Tuesday evening.
No report has been provided so far over the arrest.
Police are yet to arrive at the scene.
The traders claim that the Tanzanian police act with impunity.
