Contrary to popular belief, ex Kim Kardashian’s husband Kris Humphries has opened up on his side of the story regarding their 72-days marriage.
It has been eight years since their 2011 divorce but the basketballer vividly recalls that the marriage was a hundred percent real.
“The one thing that really bothers me is whenever people say my marriage was fake. There’s definitely a lot about that world that is not entirely real,” he said according to a report by The Mirror.
On the flip side however, Kris also remembers his marriage to have been “brutal”, taking a tall on his career.
Kris has claimed that his relationship with Kim eventually ruined his chances of ‘being recognised as a basketball player’, with crowds turning on him due to his reality TV status.
“I should have known what I was getting into. I was definitely naive about how much my life was going to change.”
If he thought being married to Kim was difficult, Kris found divorcing her a whole different ball game.
The break-up played out in the public eye and Kris said this put a huge strain on his mental health.
Kris revealed: “It’s never easy to go through the embarrassment of something like that, with your friends, with your family… but when it plays out so publicly, in front of the world, it’s a whole other level. It was brutal.”
Kris said he is still dogged by his time with Kim and he regrets that he got involved with the Kardashians in the first place.
