Kilifi Governor calls for unity of coastal leaders

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has emphasized on the unity of coastal leaders.

The Governor was speaking during a fundraiser of a Kilifi South Constituency education kitty for bright and needy students at Mtomondoni primary school.

Some of the coastal leaders who were in attendance include Mombasa Governor Joho among others.

The Governor says that he has no problem with Governor Joho and even the fact that he is has declared his 2022 interest of being president.

Kingi added that the issue is not about being in constant communication as leaders or the coastal leaders declaring their interest in the presidential bid.

He urged coastal leaders to focus on ironing out their differences in the spirit of enhancing unity.

Kingi gave an an example of coastal leaders who have ever vied for presidency yet they never got the votes since coastal residents were not united.

He also warned the residents from being influenced by outsiders instead of focusing on the importance of their oneness.

Kingi believes that the unity as the Coastal people is the only driving force towards achieving economic transformation, sustainable development and shared prosperity in our region.

He also encouraged coastal leaders to speak with one voice as the Coastal people in order and rally themselves around a common good.
