Why DP Ruto should be shaken by the ‘walking constitution’

The walking constitution, James Orengo pledged to institute an impeachment against DP Ruto.

Siaya Senator James Orengo on Sunday expressed his intention to oust DP Ruto over corruption claims.

Orengo said a Deputy President can be kicked out of office if it’s found that he or she has violated the Constitution or any other law.

The Senator said the country cannot move forward with a Deputy President who is at the centre, any time a corruption case is mentioned.

Addressing Ugenya residents during campaigns for the Ugenya by-election, Orengo said Article 150 of the Constitution is enough to throw out DP Ruto.

Article 150 of the Kenyan constitution captures events on when is Deputy president removed from office.

In the case of impeachment, the Deputy President can be ousted on the ground of a gross violation of a provision of the Constitution or any other law, where there are serious reasons to believe that the Deputy President has committed a crime under national or international law, and for gross misconduct.

“I want to repeat here and now that the Senate together with the National Assembly, we want to bring a motion of impeachment to kick out DP Ruto from office,” Orengo said.

Orengo was backed up by leaders and are planning to remove Ruto from office.

Orengo is the brain behind the nullification of 2018 presidential election and has won many court cases.
