See Miguna’s comparison of how Uhuru used Ruto to gain power just like Mzee Kenyatta used Tom Mboya

Ex Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna, and a tough critique of Kenyan governance has gone at it again calling out President Uhuru Kenyatta for “using” his Deputy President William Ruto to gain political mileage during his presidential campaigns.

This Miguna equated to how the first head of state to an independent Kenya, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, who also happens to be Uhuru’ father “used” assassinated Pan-Africanist Tom Mboya to become more powerful.

“Jomo Kenyatta used Tom Mboya to fight against the true freedom fighters in KANU. After Mboya had made Kenyatta powerful and secure, Jomo had Mboya assassinated, turned Kenya into a de facto one party state and made TRIBALISM the LINGUA FRANCA,” tweeted Miguna Miguna.

To this Miguna Miguna said “Uhuru is doing the same”.

“Uhuru Kenyatta used William Ruto to steal two successive elections but now Uhuru is pretending to distance himself from Ruto and is using Raila Odinga to make Kenya a de facto one party dictatorship,” he posted.

This comes as the former Uhuruto bromance is clearly fading away especially after opposition leader Raila Odinga came into the picture through the handshake.

As the initial “deal” was said to be to support Uhuru Kenyatta for two terms in 2013 and 2018 presidential bid under the Jubilee coalition. This would then be followed by the backing of Ruto for 2022 and 2026- the deal seems not to be anymore after the turn of events.

Uhuru in fact called out Ruto on a rally, where he used the infamous ‘tanga tanga’ term.

This, together with the handshake in the equation has thrown the Uhuruto deal in the woods, Kenyans being left speculating Uhuru’s backing of Raila Odinga in 2022. This may not be totally unprecedented at this rate, especially when talks of a constitutional referendum are underway.
