Jabs Have been thrown at Deputy President William Ruto, accusing him of derailing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s war on corruption and even employing uncouth tactics while at it.
A high powered meeting was held at Ruto’s Karen home that brought together his very close and trusted allies.
They met to review Uhuru’s comments during a visit to Namibia where he said that he will not spare even his closest political allies in the war on graft — a quote seen to target the DP.
ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna accused Dr Ruto of attempting to censor President Kenyatta as he tightens the noose on those accused of stealing public funds.
“It is shocking that some people have even infiltrated the social media accounts of the President and brought it down due to his commitment to fight graft,” he said while campaigning for the party’s candidate in the Ugenya by-election scheduled for April 5.
But Chief Of Staff Nzioka Waita had explained that the President’s Twitter and Face book accounts had been deactivated for investigations.
East African Legislative Assembly MP,Oburu Oginga accused the DP of
being involved in mega scams presiding over corruption cases by appointing people to strategic positions, people whom he said have been involved in underhand deals.
He added that the Deputy President should sympathize with the ordinary Kenyans and stop handling public resources with reckless abandon.
Moses Kajwang’ ,The Homa Bay Senator said there was sufficient evidence to prosecute individuals involved in the dam scandals and others and called on President Kenyatta to take action against any public servant who has been involved in any kind of corruption, knowing that Kenyans are behind him.
But while in anther a Church Service on Sunday, Ruto, without mincing his words, castigated Mr Odinga for the umpteenth time saying the opposition chief came to wreck the Jubilee Party in the pretext of enhancing peace courtesy of the handshake.despite the biting hunger in about 13 counties, the DP did not give an update on what the government has done so far to ameliorate the situation.
“They should not cheat us because we know them,” he said and swore not to allow “outsiders to engineer” the problems in the Jubilee and by extension jeopardize the chances of succeeding the President.
The Deputy President Further added that he will not allow ODM to bring chaos in Jubilee.” We will not accept. They should also know that we are well prepared.”Ruto Affirmed.
