Speaking to Switch Tv, LJay Maasai revealed that he was once a secular artist during the time when he was still in high school.
For about 3 years, he was into secular music until a life changing experience following his decision to seek salvation.
What triggered the decision to get saved? LJay Maasai says that he was involved in a two separate road accidents and the fact that he survived in both with no injuries made him feel protected by God.
The Singer says that he believes that it was God’s way of showing him his purpose and that is what got him on the path of salvation.
What inspires his dress code? I have a cloth line and I design my own clothes except the suits. Ljay Maasai says that his brand is inclined to his culture since he thought that culture is what makes him different/unique from other artists.
What inspires the lyrics and messages in his songs? On writing his music, LJay Maasai says that he is inspired by what happens around him and what he goes through.

LJay Maasai says that the industry is challenging and it calls for focus. “If you do not have your goals set, you are not going to achieve them.”
