National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) have arrested Ms.Monica Atieno Ocholla, owner who is also driver of the vehicle caught ferrying school children in the boot of her vehicle and arraigned her in a Nakuru court on Thursday.
She was fined a meagre Kshs. 26,000 sparking outrage given the risks she put the kids into.
Parents have also been slammed for allowing their kids to be exposed to such dangers.
A Facebook user Irene Gachia reacted to the post by NTSA by saying, “You can’t blame NTSA for some of these things. Parents are to blame for opting for cheaper means of transport in the name of wanting their children to be picked and dropped at convenient timings. I have seen this happening in several city schools. What kind of Insurance cover do such vehicles have or do they even have the relevant papers for carrying passengers ? “
Kevin Ndukuyu added, “according to me,the mothers of those kids should be arrested first before mwenye gari achukuliwe hatua yoyote. He’s innocent “
