A team of experts from the Health Ministry on Wednesday, March 20, left the country for Cuba led by Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman.

Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho paid the family a visit on Wednesday, March 20, to condole with them as they waited for the arrival of the body and burial.

Juma was among 50 medics sent to Cuba for a medical training program and he allegedly took his life as a result of frustrations.

The doctors accused the government of neglecting them and among their predicaments was slashing of allowances from KSh 144000 to KSh 36,000.

Following the death of Dr. Hamisi, The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union has called for immediate termination of the doctors training programme in Cuba.

The union, which says the programme has not benefited the health workers, has recommended that the sponsorship be provided in Kenyan universities
