What would you do If you were a thief and your gang had gone to rob and there was plan did not go through as planned, would you just abort the mission and go home and wait for another sunny opportunity or would you now go on a marauding spree and steal anything you can even meat, a big chunk of it as if to pay yourself off for your hard work earned and to get strength for the next job.
Well this was the just the scenario for a gang of thieves who have been terrorizing the residents of a quiet center in Ndoma in Kikuyu. Resident claim the gang has been raiding butcheries, shops and stealing from residents who were often walking alone. The gang became notorious with robberies, break-ins becoming a weekly affair.
Tick tock their time was up and the forty days for a thief surely lives up to its reputation. The gang was escaping a botched robbery and they decided to do one last job which happened to be stealing from a butchery but this is where one of them met their fate. Police intercepted the gang and a shooting ensued where one thief was gunned down. The rest of the gang managed to escape in the thickets.
Police recovered a fake pistol, some crude weapons and a metal bar cuter which they used to break locks. Residents of Ndoma applauded the police efforts saying they have been vigilant and there was need to curb the rising crime in the sleepy center.
