Ministry of Labour and Social Protection Principal Secretary (PS), Nelson Marwa has on Thursday ambushed unscrupulous bank agents in Machakos County who intend to con Inua Jamii beneficiaries.
Marwa revealed that the trap is set nationwide and one agent has been nabbed in Kitale after defrauding an elderly.
Inua Jamii payments started this week in all the 47 counties and 290 constituencies for 1,030,822 beneficiaries.
Marwa also called on the contracted banks to take control of all the agents and their operations to facilitate smooth funds transfer to the elders.
Each beneficiary is expected to receive Ksh. 12,000.
