United Legend Reveals What Man City Needs to Win The Quadruple

Ryan Giggs believes luck might be on City’s side as they try and claim an astonishing quadruple this season.

The Blues have already won the Carabao Cup this term and at the weekend they secure an FA Cup semi-final spot with victory over Swansea City.

United’s quarter-final exit to Wolves has opened up City’s path in the FA Cup, but they needed a dollop of fortune to edge past the Championship side, coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at the Liberty Stadium.

City equalised through a controversial penalty and Sergio Aguero’s winner was offside, but with VAR not in use in south Wales the decisions weren’t checked.

Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand to return to the top of the Premier League and face Tottenham in the Champions League quarter-finals. If they claim all four trophies this season it would eclipse the treble United won 20 years ago.

But Giggs believes they will need to continue to have luck on their side if they are to achieve that feat.

“I’ve got enough to worry about – please don’t bring that up,” the Wales manager joked when asked about City’s chances of winning a quadruple.

“They are a fantastic team and they have obviously already got one. With United going out of the FA Cup makes it a little bit easier for them.

“They have a long way to go, and just like us in the treble, you need need a bit of luck and a lot of things to go for you, which they had at the weekend.

“They’re a brilliant team and it will be interesting to see what they can achieve.”
