Uhuru told how Obado ‘blessed’ corrupt judge with good road to his private home with full street lighting

It is no secret that Kenya’s judges have benefited from proceeds of corruption in exchange for favorable rulings.

But as bad as the graft has been, the decision to investigate the conduct of Supreme Court Judge

has suggested that the swamp of bribery runs even deeper than thought.

The decision was arrived at after allegations of close associations with Migori County and its governor Okoth Obado emerged.

Further allegations according to Ahmednasir Abdullahi suggest that the judges vice in the business of corruption starts from the earliest days of his career.

Justice Ojwang is alleged to have recieved the ‘blessing’ of the Migori county chief , Okoth Obado of a good road to his private home with full street lighting and in return offered a favourable ruling to the Governor.

JSC wants Justice Ojwang investigated and possibly removed for alleged gross misconduct, abuse of office and corruption.

This comes just a week after JSC received a petition seeking the removal of four Supreme Court judges alleged to have violated the Constitution during the Wajir gubernatorial petition.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has resulted to ask President Uhuru Kenyatta to form a panel to investigate the conduct of the Supreme Court Judge Jackton Ojwang.
