Following statements by Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa that the deaths reported in Turkana and Baringo areas can not be traced to the reported drought, Babu Owino and Raila Junior have called this out as hogwash.
Raila on his Twitter called the statement “insensitive”.
Babu Owino’s reaction was on the other hand directed to National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) CEO James Oduor who echoed CS Wamalwa’s sentiments at a press briefing.
