Kenyan Veteran Artist Gabu has revealed why he is against raising funds for Turkana drought victims.
The news of famine and starvation has broken the hearts of many Kenyans and many have lamented that all this is happening as a result of a failed government.
In efforts to address the matter some celebrities have rallied behind Akothee’s initiative to raise funds and help the Turkana victims. Some are however reluctant saying that the government should play its role and stop burdening Kenyans.
Akothee’s initiative has already managed to get over 1 million Kenyan Shillings and team Akothee are planning to go on a trip to Turkana this Friday.
Despite some celebrities rallying behind to support Akothee’s initiative some have strongly opposed it and pioneer artist Gabu has his reasons.
Using his influence, Gabu says that he is inciting people not to donate any money. A move that might be considered as mean yet he says that he wants Kenyans to be realistic.
He says that the Government has failed to give Kenyans jobs yet they expect them to dig deeper in their pockets to donate funds to feed Kenyans yet it is their job.
He also added that Turkana residents should arrest their leaders and demand for money and action.
Gabu also urged Kenyans not to donate any funds and instead let the government do it’s work
Here is his post
What do you think Kenyans should do to address the situation?
