A Former student of Eldoret Polytechnic who resided in Kibera was stabbed to death by a knife borrowed from his own girl friend the court has been told.
James Njoroge who was charged with the man slaughtering Kevin Mawira last year told court that he only confronted the deceased after he tried to steal from his shop in Kibera but he never killed him.
He told Kibera Magistrate Derick Kuto that the late Wawire was murdered by his own brother after a disagreement erupted on who owns a certain lady.
He said that in the arguments, one person, the deceased brother committed the offence.
The complainant, the deceased mother Grace Gathoni downplayed the claims, she told court that his son never engaged in the said argument but was only coming to the rescue of his brother before she was murdered by the accused.
Gathoni said that it was well known to everyone in the locality that the accused stabbed his son.
She said that the lady who handed the knife to the accused had admitted the mistake of Giving the knife to him but never knew that it could be used to kill the late Wawire.
She said that at fast the four boys together with the accused had agreed to wait for some ladies whom they wanted to have a word with.
Its then by that time when the argument erupted on who loves who when the accused borrowed a knife from his girlfriend and killed wawire.
James Njoroge has been charged with stabbing Kevin Mawira with a Knife in February 28 last and causing his death, he had been charged with manslaughter which is contrary to the law and released on a Bond of Sh 200,000 and a Cash Bail of Sh 100,000.
Kibera Magistrate Derrick Kuto directed the matter to be heard again on June 16.
