Have you ever been in argument where you were so sure you were right only for the judges and evidence present to prove you wrong? This is the feeling an aspirant is still nursing in addition to financial slap handed.

Michael Gichuru was on Monday committed to 30 days in civil jail for failing to raise Ksh 9.5 million fine.

This was after an unsuccessful petition against the Mathira Member of Parliament (MP), Rigathi Gachagua election in 2017.

In court documents seen by reporters , Gichuru did not obey the decree nor satisfy the court that he is entitled to be discharged from custody.

The court further fixed Ksh 1,800 as the monthly allowance for the petitioner.

The judge had ruled that the petitioner did not provide enough evidence to prove that the legislator was not duly elected.

“I find that the Mathira parliamentary election held on August 8, 2017 was free, fair and transparent,” Justice Jairus Ng’aa had ruled.
