The death of one Patrick Hinga, a reformed street urchin has left many in shock as it was so sudden.
According to Faith Wanja Ng’ang’a, the lady who pulled him out of the streets and enrolled him into a rehabilitation program, Hinga first complained of pains on Thursday, March 14.
Faith explained the deceased left home to visit his friends in Kayole, Nairobi and upon arriving at his destination, he started complaining of a mild stomach pain.
“Hinga left home and went to visit his friends in Kayole. Upon reaching there, he called his mom and complained of a stomachache but said it was not that serious,” she wrote.
The chap then decided to spend the night at his friend’s place convinced he would get better soon.
However, on the night of Saturday, March 16, Hinga’s pain was back and this time round it was worse.
“That is when he decided to go to the hospital but by the time the mother got to him on Sunday, he had already passed on. I feel confused and lost and I do not know what to say or think or even where to start,” a sad Faith added.
Hinga’s demise left a void in many people’s hearts especially netizens who were rooting for him to get better.
The chap came into the limelight when his friend and guardian angel, Faith, saw him in the streets completely wasted by drug addiction and gave him a second lease in life. She cleaned him up and helped him stay sober.
The lady even opened a shop for Hinga and got him a place to live with the help of well wishers who contributed to the course.
Sadly, the chap relapsed and went back to his drug using ways after a few months.
