Police have launched investigations where a secondary school principal was found to have committed suicide.
Joel Metobo the deputy principal from Kianginda Secondary School Deputy Principal is said to have been okay the previous day and according to those who interacted with him, there were no signs of depression or trouble.
“He was fine on Friday. We, however, don’t know what led to him committing suicide,” one of the residents said.
Nyamira county commissioner Amos Mariba said suicide cases are on the rise and there is a need for people to seek guidance and counselling.
βIt is very disappointing that even teachers who are supposed to be guiding the people are ending their lives. We need to address this issue,β Mariba said.
He also advised the residents to seek advice from spiritual leaders.
