When Jomo Kenyatta pointed gun to Minister in Parliament

Kenya’s first President Jomo Kenyatta strongman politics led him to do outrageous things that still count as historical injustices. But notable among them was when he threatened to shoot dead his minister live in parliament!

Ronald Ngala, who was the minister for Constitutional Affairs and Administration in the early 1960s, once rubbed Jomo the wrong way and regretted it immediately.

A report by The Standard indicates that the grand master of Coast politics took to the floor of the National Assembly and criticized ‘burning spear’ during a discourse.

While it was not clear what the debate was about, his sentiments did not go down well with Jomo.

The publication reports that the ‘old man’ pulled out a pistol from his pocket and pointed it at Ngala.
