There has been a public outcry and outrage after former University of Nairobi student leader OCS Ragira was killed on Thursday.
It was a case of a broad day light assassination.
OCS Ragira came face to face with goons from mathare sent to grab part of Nairobi University.
After a short confrontation OCS Ragira was shot from the back as he tried to flee from the goons who had pangas and guns.
After he was shot, it took few minutes for police to arrive and they stood there watching him helpless die.
When police arrived OCS Ragira was still breathing.
Here is how a student who was present narrated.
“OCS Ragira the murdered Nairobi University Student leader was alive when police arrived. He was breathing. This officer is seen here feeling the pulse and a student has confirmed OCS was breathing. No ambulance, no first aid, nothing. Our incompetence is nauseating.”.
It was after about one hour when a student and a friend of OCS arrived and went to feel his pulse. It emerged that he was still breathing.
Instead of taking him to hospital using an ambulance , they bundled him in the back of a car not caring about his safety.
“Then they bundled him into this police truck, mark you NOT AMBULANCE but policeman truck. This is a man who was breathing and his life could have been saved. In civilized Worlds, heads should be rolling. We are just animals. Why are we like this God? It hurts. “It seems police Were paid to make sure he does not survive.
