This is why Former University of Nairobi leader was killed

Murder cases have been on the rise in the recent past, most of them under unknown circumstances.

Former University of Nairobi student leader was killed by goons on Thursday evening after claims that has been opposing the goons’ activities on social media until Thursday night when he stormed the area in solidarity with the traders.

Samuel Ragira who had contested the Milimani ward seat as an independent candidate in 2017 is reported to have met his death after he confronted the said goons.

A Facebook post just a few hours before he was killed shows, the goons have been terrorising traders at the “Klabu” market opposite Nairobi Primary School, demanding money in exchange for stalls.

He claimed that the goons, armed with guns and an assortment of crude weapons have been demanding payment from the traders in order for them to go on with their activities.

On Wednesday, March 13, Ragira sensationally claimed that Klabu traders were being attacked by mungiki and further alleged this was happening under the watch of the police.

“It is unfortunate that Mungiki are terrorising Klabu 36 traders with pangas and guns taking advantage of the situation. They are demanding KSh 10K from every trader to build a kibanda,” he said.

“This issue is disturbing as the police are watching it happen. Students are being harassed and others losing their phones. We want to know why the police can side with people terrorising innocent Kenyans” he added.

His protege and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino was among the first to send message of condolences.

“I strongly condemn the killing of one comrade Ocs Ragira Samuel who has left behind a young family. May his soul Rest in everlasting Peace,” he said.
