A section of Kalenjin leaders have always cried foul that the war against corruption is directly aimed at bringing down their community.
But to counter- attack their accusations Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji publicized the list of corruption according the different ethnic communities but the Kalenjin community are not leading.
According to the list, the majority of graft suspects are Kikuyus at 141, followed by Luos at 56. Kalenjins are third at 46. Kisii are 37, the Swahili 34, Kamba 31 and Luhyas 29. The Indian community has 15, and the Aembu five.
But according to Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, the list which was produced is also a hoax.
According to the Star Newspaper, Oscar Sudi has dismissed the list.
The lawmaker dismissed the DPP Noordin Haji’s publicised breakdown of graft list by ethnic groups. He said the figures were fake and made up by DCI George Kinoti to hoodwink the public that Kikuyus top the list of those charged with corruption. He said it was “manufactured by DCI George Kinoti to confuse Kenyans seeking the truth”.
“We know that list is fake and the DPP should not speak for Kinoti who is the main culprit in the scheme to taint William Ruto as corrupt,” he said.
But in a new twist Oscar Sudi has also revealed how DP Ruto’s enemies are planning to assassinate Ruto.
“They have been scheming all manner of things and we know even plans to kill him cannot be ruled out,” he told the Star on the phone.
Asked if he was aware of the seriousness of such claims, Sudi said Ruto’s adversaries were determined to stop him from taking over the presidency in 2022.
