After Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth shared his battle with Colorectal cancer, another MP has come out to show the number of fellow legislatures suffering from the killer disease.
Juja MP Francis Munyua has revealed that he knows nine (9) sitting MPs and four (4) Senators who are on cancer treatment.
Munyua who successfully underwent brain cancer surgery says that the MPs are flocking Indian hospitals for retreatment.
In an interview on Wednesday, Munyua said that cancer is treatable if detected early and empathised with his Kibra counterpart Ken Okoth who has come out publicly to state his condition.
“I empathize with my colleague Kenneth Okoth and encourage him to soldier on because he will recover,” he said.
Munyua asked MPs ailing from cancer to make it public and support each other on treatment.
“I know it is difficult but if we can openly speak about our conditions then we will be helping each other,” he added.
The Juja legislator said he has recovered from brain cancer and is now advocating for awareness.
The MP wants a cancer kitty established to help thousands of Kenyans who he said cannot afford treatment in foreign hospitals.
