Newly nominated Education CS George Magoha has revealed that he was recommended for the Education CS role by Fred Matiang’i the super Minister.
Magoha was surprisingly nominated last month to replace Amina Mohammed in the hot sit at Elimu House.
And the learned man shocked many, when he put the Interior CS as his first referee in his CV.

“I want to declare that he is my friend but I did not appoint him as my referee on the basis of that, I appointed him based on the fact that this is a ministerial job which I never looked for and he has been one,” he noted.
“He is the one who recommended me to the president to go to KNEC, he would be able to tell you what I did when I was there,” he added.
Magoha appeared before parliament on Thursday for vetting, where he told MPs about how he was going to work perform his new job.

Prior to his nomination, Prof Magoha was the Chair of Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC). He worked together with Matiang’i to bring an end to rampant exam cheating.
He has also served as the Vice Chancellor of the Prestigious University of Nairobi.
