Denis goes on to say that Kennedy was a bright, orphaned student who was studying under Equity Bank’s “Wings To Fly” programme.

According to Denis, the teacher is still in the school and has been extremely rude and unapologetic when questioned on the matter.

The family is now calling on all relevant authorities to pick the matter up and ensure that Kennedy finds justice before he can finally be laid to rest.

On his part, Kangaru School principal Kiminda Wambugu said that the matter has been forwarded to the county Education office which is now in charge of the matter.

Many Kenyans including parents with children in the same school have expressed their anger. Here are some of the reactions.

Tabitha Nyaga says, “Being a parent in that school I have witnessed a student with pencil injuries— (poked with the pencil on his thigh till it formed a pencil hole) courtesy of the same teacher. The mother of that student had to transfer him.. This school is a disgrace. Wish I knew earlier. “

Victoria Stevens added, “I also have a problem with the fact that captains are allowed to cane and punish students in that school. I do not understand why they are given so much authority. “
