Matiang’i recommended me for the job to the president,Reveals Prof Magoha

Education nominated Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha faced the vetting committee as he prepares to take office should he be approved by the parliament.

While his vetting continued the comittee noted that one of his referees is the Interior cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i who is formerly the Education CS and the duly was curious to know why.

To his response Prof Magoha revealed that the CS is the best person to explain his strengths and achievements should they need more information about his capability when it comes to handling the Education docket.

The two have however worked together when CS Matiang’i was the Education CS where they recoderd tremendous improvement in the Education sector the rate at which examination cheating was at was reduced.

In addition he said that CS Matiang’i recommended him for the KNEC job to President Kenyatta thus been the right person to answer capability questions.

He further urged the vetting committee to seize asking him questions about other people since questions as it is not his thing to engage in such matters.

In addition to his statement he said, “If I’m appointed to this position through your approval my door will be wide open for all of you (MPs) but you will also have to consider that I have targets to meet, you do not expect me to sit down the whole day attending to you.”

Prof Magoha happens to be a beneficiary of the recent Mini cabinet Reshuffle where the Presidnt nominated himt o head the Education Ministry which was previously headed by Amb Amina Mohammed who is now the Sports Cabinet secretary replacing former CS Rashid Echesa.
