Aisha Jumwa has proven to the opposition chief that she has no vow with ODM or [the] party leader but rather chosen to stand to support Dr Ruto to be president in 2022.

Speaking at the the parliament buildings, Aisha Jumwa said that she will not appear before the parties governing body to apologize after the party chairman welcomed her back on condition that she apologizes like her counterpart Dori.

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori had alluded that under the Uhuru-Raila handshake, they can associate with anyone under the motto ‘building bridges’. But Mr Sifuna in December disagreed.

“I have heard Raila Odinga saying that if I appear before the party they will forgive me… I want to tell him that what I told them before the National Executive Council that remains my position. Let them go back to the records,” said Jumwa.

Raila Odinga on Tuesday said the party would give Jumwa a second chance if she apologised “like Msambweni Member of Parliament Suleiman Dori.”

“Kila mtoto akiomba msahamaha anasamehewa. Juzi kwa chama yetu Dori alilia situlimsamehea. Ata Aisha tulisema akikuja tuketi chini naalie tutaangalia maneno yake. Sisi kama wanachungwa tuko pamoja,” said Mr. Odinga.

Loosely translated: “If a child asks to be pardoned you forgive them. Recently in our party, Suleiman Dori begged for forgiveness and we pardoned him… If Aisha Jumwa also pleads for forgiveness, we shall reconsider her fate.”

Raila is a cunning politician. He knows that in the event of a by- election in Malindi, Aisha Jumwa supported by DP Ruto and Gov Kingi will win the seat by morning and that will be a big embarrassment to him and his party .This is a tactical retreat by Mr. Odinga.— #PunguzaMizigo Fredrick Okango (@fokango) March 12, 2019

Earlie during her ouster Raila while addressing delegates said that loyalty is paramount and critical, warning that his March 9, 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta was not meant to undermine the party leadership.

“We must draw the line between building our party and the handshake,” he said.
