Emotional reunion as Kenyan man who missed ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines flight, arrives home

Man survives the Ethiopian plane crash by a whisker after he reported late to the airport.

The 29-year-old who works in Dubai had booked a flight on Ethiopian Airlines that would leave at 4:30am and arrive in Addis Ababa at around 7am.

However, the ET601 flight from Dubai was delayed and left later than expected.

By the time they reached Bole International airport in Addis Ababa, Khalid was 50 minutes late for his connecting flight but still hoped he could make it.

“I was running to catch the first flight to Nairobi ET 302 but it had already left,” he said during an interview on NTV.

Hi family was worried when they heard about the crash and even feared calling in his phone.

Khalid later reunited with his family in Mombasa and they could not help but thank God for protecting their son.
