Why Liverpool stars: Mane and Robertson don’t eat on one plate

Liverpool face a crunch Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday but Sadio Mane might want to give Andy Robertson a wide berth on the flight to Germany!

The Reds recovered from a controversial early Ashley Westwood goal to beat Burnley 4-2 at Anfield on Sunday and keep the pressure on Manchester City – who beat Watford 3-1 the previous day – at the top of the Premier League.

A Roberto Firmino brace and Sadio Mane strike put Liverpool in control before Johann Berg Gudmundsson gave the hosts cause for concern in stoppage time.

There was still time, though, for Mane to calm Anfield nerves with his second of the game. The Senegalese forward could have finished the game with the match ball had had he not snatched at an earlier effort with Robertson waiting to tap home.

Robertson has became a firm favourite at Anfield since arriving from Hull City in 2017, but he has scored only one Premier League in that time and is still waiting to get off the mark this season.

He took to social media following the defeat of Burnley, and joked that it might take a few days for him to forgive Mane for not letting him open his account!
