Kiambu Gov. Ferdinand Waititu says that there is no doubt Raila will destroy Jubilee party before the next general elections.

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has accused opposition chief Raila Odinga of plotting to destroy the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2022 polls.

Speaking at St Paul’s Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) in Kiambu on Sunday, Waititu, popularly as Babayao, alleged that Raila is using the famous March 9, 2018 handshake to advance his own selfish agenda.

“He has come to wreck the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2022 general elections. His plan is to discredit the party and President Uhuru Kenyatta in the run up to the polls and we as Jubilee members will be left looking like fools after destroying the good relationships we had,” said Waititu.

Waititu further hit out at the ODM Party leader, arguing that he has no moral authority to lecture anyone on corruption matters.

“All of us are now keenly listening to him castigate corruption as if he were a bishop. Why are we listening to him yet we all know he is a crook? We won’t accept as Jubilee to be taken to the forest by an individual whose behaviour we all know,” said the governor.

The county boss assured Deputy President William Ruto of Mt Kenya support in the upcoming polls, adding that the Jubilee Party will honour the pre-election pact the DP had with President Uhuru in 2013.

“Kiambu County and the entire Central Kenya region will rally behind your 2022 presidential bid. We will honour the pre-election pact because the president announced in broad daylight that he would rule for ten years and hand over the baton to you in 2022. We will not accept Mt Kenya residents to be branded dishonest over failure to honour the pact,” he added.

This comes as Ruto and Raila engage in a war of words over the Sh21 billion dams scandal that has rocked the Jubilee administration.
