A two storey building under occupation has collapsed in Manyatta, Kisumu.
Several people are feared to have been trapped inside the building in the incident which happened on Monday morning.
Kondele OCS Boniface Mutie confirmed reports that rescue is yet to start, still waiting for equipment from the county government to start the rescue operation.
What caused the collapse has not been established.
Personnel from the Kenya red cross are at the scene assisting with rescue operations.
