A two-storey building collapsed at Kona Mbuta, Manyatta in Kisumu County.
Several people are feared to have been trapped inside the building in the incident which happened on Monday morning.
Personnel from the Kenya red cross are at the scene where they are assisting with the rescue operations.
Number of casualties is yet to be confirmed.
