Vocal ex-Kakamega senator Bonnie Khalwale has accused president Uhuru Kenyatta of being biased based on the fight against graft.
According to Khalwale has ill motives against the Luhya community
In his statement Khalwale said, “We shouldn’t have been having a problem if Echesa had stolen money. His ministry was not linked to any scandal. Do not hide in witch-hunt to punish innocent people,”

In addition he said, “Why haven’t you sacked Mwangi Kiunjuri, whose ministry has been linked to maize scandal? Why haven’t you sacked Samson Chelgui whose ministry has been linked to several multimillion scandals? Why haven’t you sacked Cecily Kariuki from Health? Why Echesa?
Former sports cabinet secretary Rashid Echesa was fired by President Kenyatta in a mini cabinet reshuffle replacing him with Amb Amina Mohammed former Education CS.
Echesa is believed to have been involved in a number of scandals including the recent one for the fake money which was found in a house in Ruiru.
He is also speculated to have links with the ‘fake’ Kenyatta who was arrested for allegedly mimicking President Kenyatta’s voice conning Sameer Businessman close to Ksh 80 million.
