A lady by the name Caroline has expressed her painful ordeal of seeking compensation for her late dad who allegedly worked for Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
Through her Twitter account she laments how she was forced to pay up to Kshs. 500, 000 for the her father’s hospital bill. However, she claims that all expenses were paid by NHIF which leaves her to wonder whether there is somebody after her dad’s compensation, who passed over 2 years ago.
“Dad passed on 2/12/2017.He worked with CID.since then,we have been up and down to get the benifits.All formalities are completed. Everytime we go to the headquater,they got so many excuses.sometimes very busy,account missing…total confusion.pliz help,” she wrote.
“They also claimed to deduct 500k saying that they paid for hospital bill.I don’t understand this coz i was the one who did hospital billing.Everything was covered by NHIF.Nothing they gave out. My mum is struggling to meet my college expenses.”
The DCI responded by tweeting, “Your issue has reached us and we request you to come to DCI Headquarters and ask to see the Executive Advisor to the DCI. You can come tomorrow, if you’re within Nairobi or another preferred day as long you inform us in good time. You’re welcome Carol! “
