The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has now taken action against one of his staff members.
In his statement he asked the police to take action against one of his drivers who was caught on camera driving carelessly along Ngong Road leading to an accident where he hit a motorist identified as Waithera Gaitho.
While taking to her twitter account she wrote,“I’ve been hit by these “very important” people while they were driving in the wrongs side. Please help me find them.”
To respond to the tweet, the office of the DPP wrote, “The matter has been brought to the attention of the DPP. The motor vehicle belongs to @ODPP_KE and the DPP has directed that immediate action is taken by @NPSOfficial_KE against the driver involved.”
In an additional tweet DPP said, “The public shall be informed of the progress of the case.”
This comes after the Inspector General of Police just ordered that all police officers assigned to VIPs to obey traffic laws and stop harassing other motorists; vows action against violators.
