The family of Bomet East MP Beatrice Kones was left speechless during the burial of their 39 year old son who took his life after sending the mother a text message.

The son who was buried yesterday in Rift valley, sent the mother a text message while she was in South Africa while attending the PANAFRICAN parliament summit.

A few hours later,Reports indicate that the 39-year-old was rushed to the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital after he became unconscious.

He was reportedly taken to the Intensive Care Unit but later pronounced dead.“He sent me a message stating he was taking his life and I should take care of his children. The action was unwarranted as he did not lack anything,” said Mrs Kones.

She said: “Kipyegon was my son, my driver and partner in farming enterprise… He was the only apolitical member of the family.”

She said it was unfortunate the current crop of youth cannot cope with life, which has resulted in rising cases of suicide.
