Orengo calls out Ruto’s ‘community politics’

Senator James Orengo, speaking in Sega town during the launch of ODM campaigns for the Ugenya Parliamentary by-election dismissed claims that the war on graft was targeting a specific community as claimed by DP Ruto’s allies.

“Ruto should not hide behind his community. He is lying to the world that Uhuru is taking people from the Kalenjin community to court. I have a government record here; out of the people who have been taken to court, Kalenjins are only six,” said Orengo.

It was at the rally that the senator further challenged Deputy President William Ruto to come out and record a statement over the Ksh.21 billion Arror and Kimwarer dams’ scandal.

Similar sentiments were echoed by other ODM MPs including Samuel Atandi (Alego/Usonga), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) and James Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) who warned DP Ruto and his allies against blaming their party leader Raila Odinga for his woes.

The launch was also attended by Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga, Woman Representative Dr. Christine Ombaka and Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda among others.
