Here is what Juventus coach is planning to ahead Madrid visit

Great relief for Atletico Madrid in mission to dump Cristiano Ronaldo out of Champions League

Ahead of the return leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg clash against runaway Serie A leader, Juventus, Atletico Madrid have received excellent news concerning their highly influential head coach, Diego Simeone, which would surely come as a big relief to players of the La Liga club. The Argentine coach was in trouble for his actions during Atletico’s 2-0 victory over Juventus in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.

Simeone was the centre of controversy after grabbing his crotch in a gesture to the fans to celebrate defender Jose Gimenez’s goal to put the Colchoneros 1-0 up. Many were calling for the former SS Lazio player to be handed a touchline ban for the gesture; in the hope that he would not be able to lead from the sidelines when Atletico face Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates at Juventus at the Allianz Arena in Turin for the second leg on March 12.

However, European football governing body UEFA have made their decision concerning Simeone and decided instead that he is just to be fined but no touchline ban; meaning the Argentine boss will only have to part with all of €20,000. Both Atletico and Juventus were fined as well for separate incidents in the match. Atletico were fined 38,000 euros (£32,500) after their fans threw objects and blocked stairways at the club’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium. Juventus on their part got hit with a 30,000 euros (£25,500) fine while and manager Massimiliano Allegri received a warning after his players arrived late for the kick-off.

This is not the first time that Simeone has got into trouble with UEFA; the Atletico boss actually serving a touchline ban when the club lifted the UEFA Europa League last season, defeating Marseille 3-0 in Lyon to claim the continent’s ‘second trophy’. Juventus will still be hoping to put off the field controversy aside in Turin to turn around the 2-0 deficit and follow in the footsteps of Manchester United; who knocked Paris Saint-Germain out on away goals last night, despite also losing their first leg by the same scoreline.
