DP William Ruto Makes Solemn Vow to Kenyan Women and They Like it

Deputy President William Ruto says the Government will continue with its efforts in ensuring the realization of two-third gender rule.

Speaking at Kamwenja Teachers Training College in Nyeri County during its 91st graduation ceremony which coincided the International Women Day Ruto said despite parliament failing to pass the two-third gender bill it is a Constitutional requirement that must be fulfilled.

Deputy president William ruto was attending 91st graduation ceremony at kamwenja teachers training college in Nyeri county on a day the world was celebrating international women’s day.

Ruto assured women that the two third gender rule will eventually be enacted and implemented.

According to Deputy President the government was committed to eliminating barriers hindering the participation of women in the leadership of the country.

Both 11th and 12th parliament have attempted and failed to pass legislation on achievement of gender parity in parliament.

The Deputy President also spoke of Government’s will to equip teachers to enable them to mentor students to be responsible citizens.

He said all gaps in the education system will be addressed including the implementation of the competence based curriculum, increasing the number of teachers and upgrading infrastructure in schools.
