Father of Nairobi lawyer allegedly murdered by wife has not eaten for 3 days after son’s death

The Father of the late Robert Chesang, Chesang Kiptala, has refused to put even a drop of water in his mouth, since Sunday , after learning that his daughter-in-law is to blame over the death of his son.

The 70-year-old man is now frail and can barely make a complete sentence before he takes a long pause and spends most of her time under a tree as he stares blankly at the sky.

Kiptala has to be carried around by family members every time he wants to join the mourners or move from the scorching Baringo sun. The deteriorating health status is now worrying his wife, Florah Chesang, who fear she could lose her dear husband to depression.

“I appeal to the government to arrest those who killed my son because we may lose his father. He is not in good shape,” she pleaded.

In a sworn affidavit, the deceased had reported that he had been forced out of his house by his wife Pauline Omung’ala who is senior magistrate in Nyeri.

As a result, Chesang requested the court to grant him unconditional access to his palatial home on ground that Pauline harassed him using police officers. Four suspects including the wife have been in police custody since their arrests in connection with the murder.
