Willing to surrender

“Yesterday [Tuesday, March 5], a group of men, who I don’t know, drove to my place and forcefully demanded to see me. They directed their vehicle’s headlamp rays to my house, maybe, in a bid to prevent me from seeing their faces. One of them ordered me to move to where he was. I sensed danger and fled the scene,” said Ms Kamau told the press.

She said she was willing to surrender her pursuit of a “proper gift” from the head of state, if that was the only way to save her life.

“If it is because of a house that I should lose my life, I end my pursuit for it,” Ms Kamau said adding that she had already filed a police report on the incident.

She had earlier told the press that she believed some people close to President had misappropriated the money that Kenyatta had intended to gift to Ngaruiya, arguing that the house gifted to her was substandard.

The two-bedroom fully furnished house has since been awarded to a single father of six children, three of them who are physically challenged
