Mombasa County launches new project to transform city into a world class destination

Mombasa County Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi has today  launched the MIJI BORA PROJECT.

This project will provide up to-date information on the status of the county’s  city systems and chart pathways to a smart and sustainable coastal city of Mombasa.

Through the Dept of Environment, Waste Management & Energy the county has been part of the consortium of institutions led by COMRED that developed a project proposal ‘Smart & sustainable transitioning for coastal cities in the face of global environmental change.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho had earlier shared his intention stating that  developmental projects are aimed at  making the city a premiere destination.

The Miji Bora project is aimed to build the institutional capacity of Mombasa County for future transitioning into a smart & sustainable city.

The Launch allowed room for  group presentation on some of the relevant activities/initiatives the participants in respect to their various organizations are undertaking in & around Mombasa County, and how the county officials can chip in to help improve the liveability of Mombasa City
