Brightstar Kasyoka , the Kitui Youth Governor is setting the pace for youth leadership in the nation and her contribution in the society has touched many.
The 20 year old says that the leadership spirit came within her during a time when people in the University she was studying created posters to mock her about vying for a leadership position.
Kasyoka says that she had been giving public speeches in high school and this gave her confidence that she can prove people wrong. Although she did not win her first trial, Brightstar Kasyoka says that she later on became the finance leaders
She is a founder of the Brightstar Rose Foundation, she is also a contestant of Miss President which is the the biggest reality Tv show meant to support and empower women in leadership. She is also a nominee of the Zuri award.
Kasyoka says that she had an interest in the media based on the inspiration she draws from Oprah Winfrey, however she studied political science.
The Inspiration behind her foundation she says was when a lady appoached her saying that she had 10 boyfriends, and each one of them supplies her with her needs, Kasyoka says that this gave her some level of thought and it even made her decide that she will not only offer words of hope but decided to start an initiative.’
Through her saving and some support she says that she managed to pay fees of an individual who was on the verge of dropping out.
This made her go further to officiate her officiate her initiative which is currently helping the youth.
She currently has 16 students under the program and she says that her dream is to support as as many children as possible. She also aspires to join Kenya’s political scene in future.
