Marquinhos: ‘It’s time to eat our own shit’

On Wednesday, Manchester United made history beating PSG 3-1 at Parc des Princes and becoming the first ever team to proceed to another round of the Champions League after losing 2-0 a first leg game at home. The Red Devils were looking the more passionate and disciplined side on the pitch while Les Parisiens seemed overconfident, especially in the first half, and were heavily punished for that.

Thus, the Ligue 1 champions’ defender Marquinhos did not go easy on his team post-game. The Brazilian emotionally told reporters, quoted by the Daily Mail:

“The game we played was unforgivable. We have to analyse, think and we have to be men. It’s a difficult moment.

“We had to give everything on the pitch. Now it’s over, we cannot say ‘You had to do that, you had to do this’.

Overconfident killed PSG game and united came out with high spirit to make their fans proud am happy to be a true fan glory glory man untd!!!— @Femzydiho (@femzydiho) March 7, 2019

“These are still details, and it’s always the case at the high level. I think it’s a good time not to talk too much. As we say in Brazil, it’s time to eat our own shit.

“It’s a shitty moment and we have to keep working.”
