Ezekiel Mutua gives tough rules on use of firearms in films

Earlier today, KFCB Boss Ezekiel Mutua addressed the issue of using firearms in films.

This was during his  meeting with Mombasa County Commissioner Mr. Evans Achoki and his officers to sensitize them on KFCB’s  mandate and seek collaboration in promoting compliance in film production and consumption in Mombasa region.

Among the issues he addressed, Mutua said that the use of Firearms in a film must get express permission from the Inspector General or the Kenya police. He also added that the use of firearms in films will require the filmmakers to have policemen accompany the crew at all times.

Mutua also spoke about the issue of content creation and its impact on morality.

The Moral police said that it is  unfortunate that the society  has  desensitized children to the immorality that is ailing our country thus creating a society that accepts moral erosion as a norm

Ezekiel Mutua also said that the board will not allow unscrupulous event organizers and artists to hide behind art and disregard our culture and erode our moral values.

He also noted that countries have used film to create ideologies and paint preferred images that sell specific narratives of how they want the world to perceive them.

In the same note, Mutua said that film is indeed  a powerful tool and content creators and creatives should use it to  rebrand Kenya and sell our culture and promote our national values.
