What Contribution has Solskjaer had on Manchester United’s defender, Victor Lindelof?

Manchester United’s defender Victor Lindelof has seen a major growth since Solskjaer landded in Trafford with the player playing in all the minutes that the manager has been overseeing the club, but what exactly has he done to the player?

Victor Lindelof says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s instruction to play to his natural strengths have been behind his rejuvenation at Manchester United .

The Sweden international has asserted himself as United’s first-choice centre-back since Solskjaer was placed in temporary charge at Old Trafford on December 19.

Lindelof has played every minute of United’s Premier League fixtures since Solskjaer’s appointment, with the exception of the away trip to Fulham ahead of key games against Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, and is among the contenders for United’s player of the season award.

And the 24-year-oald credits his marked improvement to Solskjaer’s confidence-inspiring advice.

“Right from the start he [Ole] has been helping me,” the 24-year-old said ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League last-16 second leg against PSG.”He said to me ‘just play your game and do things you’re good at’.

“I’m very happy to play. That’s what I want to do, and that’s what I work for everyday. I’m just happy that I can help the team perform well and I’m just happy to play.”

United are two goals down from the first leg against the Ligue 1 side and Solskjaer will be without 10 first-team players through injury, illness and, in Paul Pogba’s case, suspension.

But Lindelof says the tie is far from over.”We’re Manchester United, so anything is possible,” he explained.

“Of course it is going to be a tough game but we’re coming here to win the game and go through.”Anything can happen and we know that, so if we can get an early goal things could look good.”
