Reacting to remarks by Meru Senator Kithure Kindiki on the need to have a female deputy president, Njoroge warned the duo could impoverish Kenyans further through wanton corruption.

During day three of devolution conference in Kirinyaga county, Kindiki urged that the referendum amendment should include requirement of a male presidential candidate to name a female politician as deputy.
However according to Njoroge, the suggestion is being propelled by ideally bankrupt leaders.
