Paul Njoroge Has Advised Ruto Not to Select Waiguru as 2022 Running Mate

Former nominated senator Paul Njoroge has poured cold water on possibility of Deputy President William Ruto slotting in Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru as his 2022 running mate.

Reacting to remarks by Meru Senator Kithure Kindiki on the need to have a female deputy president, Njoroge warned the duo could impoverish Kenyans further through wanton corruption.

During day three of devolution conference in Kirinyaga county, Kindiki urged that the referendum amendment should include requirement of a male presidential candidate to name a female politician as deputy.

However according to Njoroge, the suggestion is being propelled by ideally bankrupt leaders.

“That is an idea coming or brought forward by ideally bankrupt leaders,you cannot impose to Kenyans proposals that would bring down this country. Suppose Ruto picks Waiguru as his deputy, what would Kenyans expect? We are sinking as a country because of corruption,” he tweeted.

Despite being ranked as most corrupt leaders, the bond between Ruto and Waiguru has seen the former tours the expansive county more than once in what pundits believe is endearing self to locals.
